The BURGEE PROGRAM is a comprehensive insurance package tailored to meet the needs of the club, its member, employees, and directors year round. Small or large, local or nationwide, we customize your insurance protection.

The BURGEE PROGRAM includes three components to protect your organization on land, on piers, wharves and docks, and on the water:

The BURGEE PROGRAM can be tailored to smaller clubs with no owned property, or to large organizations with a variety of unique features. Gowrie Group will customize a proposal for you.

Q: What if our organization already has the Burgee Program?
A: If you already have insurance through the Burgee Program and the Chubb Insurance Group, you don't need to do anything!!

You'll be pleased to know that the program automatically includes bodily injury & property damage coverage for:

REGATTA LIABILITY - $1,000,000 Limit
BORROWED BOAT - $1,000,000 Liability, plus Hull Physical damage coverage up to 85' LOA.
ON THE BEACH - $1,000,000 Liability on land, including liquor liability.

Q: Can our insurance broker access this program?
A: Certainly! We work with brokers throughout the country. If you are satisfied with your insurance representative, have them call Gowrie Group to obtain the necessary information.

Q: How does my organization apply?
A: Complete and return the application 60 days prior to the effective date. Mail to:

Include loss runs from your current insurance carrier for the past five years, or a statement regarding losses on the club letterhead.

Q: When is coverage effective?
A: On the effective date requested, provided our insurance proposal has been accepted by the club.

Q: How much will it cost?
A: It will depend on the club's exposures. A complete proposal outlining coverages and policy premiums will be sent.

Q: When can we expect a proposal?
A: Chubb works on the applications in effective date order. It is very important that applications are received with adequate time for the company to process. Proposals are generally valid for 30 days from your effective date.

Q: Who is an insured?
A: Club members, employees, and volunteers.

Q: What coverage is included?
A: General liability, liquor liability, hired and non-owned auto liability, property coverage (if applicable), crime (if applicable), business auto (if any owned vehicles or trailers registered for road use), marine general liability, physical damage on owned boats, liability for owned and non-owned boats. In short, Chubb should be able to provide for all of the exposures you indicate are needed on the application.

Q: Directors & Officers Liability?
A: Under a separate policy coverage can be provided for:
a. Discrimination (age, race, sex, etc.) involving employment or potential membership.
b. Sexual harassment for verbal abuse, not for physical abuse.
c. Acts beyond granted authority.
d. Wrongful termination, wrongful dismissal of employees.
e. Failure to deliver some services.
f. Libel, slander, or defamation of character.
g. Failure to comply with regulatory requirements.
h. Coverage includes prior acts.
